We raise Black Angus cattle. They are the breed we believe to be the best for beef production and because this is what our customers have demanded. Our cattle are grass and grain fed. Why not strictly grass fed? We understand that grass fed is the latest fad, however we do not believe in it 100%. For starters, from years of experience, we find it is important to work with what you are given as well as how to replenish and not deplete.

We have 50 acres of hay fields grown to feed our stock over the winter months. This leaves about 3 months for the animals to intensely graze in those particular fields. We also like to feed our animals grain because we find that most people are used to the taste and texture, “You are what you eat” is not just a saying! If the cattle are only on a grass diet you will end up with what most consider a “gamey” flavor. Also we work with an organic micro brewery, Captain Lawrence, in Pleasantville, NY. Our cattle's diet also consists of the sprouted brewer’s grain which is an excellent diet for them and gives a really nice marbling to the meat.
The lambs are also on this brewer’s diet and are grazing of course, whenever the weather permits. The pigs are strictly grain fed. Our chickens, geese, and ducks are all pasture-raised (free range) and also eat all natural grains. Our animals are never given hormones or antibiotics. Types of animal breeds,: black angus, Dorset lambs, Plymouth rock chickens, embden geese, pekin ducks, and Yorkshire pigs.
